Practical Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use

Test it in black and white. Some script fonts rely on color or texture to read clearly—Creative Writing doesn’t. If it falters in grayscale, it’ll falter on cheap print runs or low-res screens.
Check small-size readability on real mockups. Not thumbnails. Not previews. Print a 12pt sample on your target paper stock—or render it at actual device size in Figma.
Compare uppercase vs. lowercase usage. Its uppercase has more presence; lowercase flows better in short phrases. Don’t default to all-caps unless you’re after deliberate emphasis.
Review spacing—especially before punctuation. The period and comma sit snugly, but the exclamation and question marks need manual kerning in tight settings. A quick -10–20 unit nudge fixes it.
Pair it deliberately. Try it beside a sturdy serif font (think Merriweather or Lora) for editorial balance, a clean sans serif (Inter or Poppins) for modern contrast, and even another script font (but only one with simpler structure—to avoid visual competition). Avoid pairing it with other display fonts or overly ornate handwritten fonts. Let Creative Writing lead; don’t crowd the stage.
